When you think of a child’s bedroom, can you imagine what the ceiling will look like if you close your eyes and try to imagine it — you’re probably thinking of a white ceiling or another generic solid color that is dull like that.
We are here to tell you that you can incorporate creativity in the design of your kid’s ceiling and that you don’t have to relegate yourself to having such a vanilla ceiling, so to speak.
When your child or children look up at the ceiling, they will be met with a number of things – a tic tac toe board and the rules for those who are not familiar.
Of course, it’s not really practical to actually have the kids mark up the ceiling so it will have to be a more mental game as it were but it might just inspire on paper or chalkboard game.
You may want to also add game inspired expressions like “Game on!” and the like.
Even if they are years away from studying the subject in school, kids can appreciate seeing geometric shapes on their ceiling.
They can have just the shapes themselves in a number of colors (primary may be better for younger ones to teach them about these as well) or the shapes accompanied by their names printed out near the shapes.
Either way, your child or children will learn a lot about shapes by having these designs on the ceiling.
Birds — what can you say about birds other than there are so many kinds of birds and that they can be among the prettiest flight bound animals that one can see.
Birds painted on your kid’s ceiling could be one way to go about doing it, or you can even get specially made images of birds that are printed decals meant to be put on the wall.
Of course, if you go that way, you’ll want to make sure that they are in flight to make it a bit more ‘realistic’ – you wouldn’t want a sitting duck on your ceiling, would you?
A bit more out there, video game characters could be the ones that your kids currently love and admire or even the ones that you grew up cherishing, if you were the video game playing sort as a child (perhaps you still play!)
Whether you have vintage video game characters or newer ones, they will surely look magnificent on your kid’s bedroom ceiling
What kid doesn’t love the idea of space exploration — well if yours happens not to, you may want to reconsider making their bedroom ceiling.
If, however, your child or children love the notion of space exploration you can paint simple stars or even planets on the ceiling to really improve the look of it.
When you think of chameleons, you think of the sort of lizard that blends in with the backgrounds where they are found but often they don’t quite blend in perfectly.
Instead, you can have a number of chameleons on your ceiling that are in different colors — they’ll still look pretty fantastic.
Lastly, remember that just because you are getting creative on your kid’s ceiling doesn’t mean that you have to have particular designs up there — you can have solid lines, for example, and have it look good.
It’s possible that these solid lines can be the same color or, if you prefer, a variety of colors to really mix up the look of the ceiling.
Whichever you choose, you should make sure that you get full approval of the child or children that will be sleeping there at night!
